Imagine waking up one day and find you are the coolest person of 2008 - The pressure of how to celebrate must be quite something.
Although a poll awarding coolness ever so slightly reminds us of a scary school playground game - the NME poll, that has been running since 2002 is credited with introducing the fabulous Beth Ditto from the band The Gossip to the mainstream.
Alice Glass, lead singer of Toronto band, Crystal Castles was 2008's star beating Jay-Z, Alex Turner from The Arctic Monkey's, MIA and Liam Gallagher from Oasis. Missing in action were the usual suspects Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse. We onwder if we'll see them back in 2009?
