When a French name meets British synthetic pop you get LA ROUX.
Hailing from England, La Roux a.k.a Ellie Jackson moved to London when she was a teenager where her metamorphis into alter ego LA ROUX began and where she established herself on the London’s club circuit.
Her latest single “Quicksand” was released on December 15th from the French label Kitsuné and despite LA ROUX being a relative unknown to the music mainstream - Europe's most influential music blogs have already posted positive reviews.
Obviously, everything started from MySpace for Ellie. Obviously, the video is a low budget creative miracle and obviously, she’s not going to climb the MTV charts anyday soon but if take a look at her myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/larouxuk and listen to how a soft and a ever-so-slightly gloomy melody can be mixed to a catchy yet deep bass (thanks to the wonder of Australian producer Beni) - you're guaranteed to fall into a new electrobsession.
