Blazing Beauty: By Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys and Clare Maguire.

Posted Jun 27, 2011

Don’t get stuck in a rut when working white. Three of the finest musicians opted for white blazers last weekend as the signiature piece to their looks. Let's see what they did...

  Bruno Mars wearing Dolce&Gabbana

Blazers demand our attention! They can add power to prettiness and subtlety to sexiness and then everything in between. The two R’n’B superstars, Bruno Mars and Alicia keys exuded humble beauty as they posed on the (not so) red carpet at the BET Awards. Teaming his blazer with some black rimmed glasses, Bruno Mars pulled off geek chic and recalled the days of Buddy Holly with his towering quiff. With his cuffs down and one button in place, he looked like the real gentleman don't you think?

  Alicia Keys wearing Dolce&Gabbana

Alicia Keys went for a look that used understated beauty to great effect. She fitted her jacket over simple black trousers and top with the cuffs of her blazer rolled up exposing henna on her wrist. She also kissed some red lippy on her lips to add a bit of sexiness to the look, something that a young song bird did whilst on stage at Glastonbury festival in England.

  Clare Maguire wearing Dolce&Gabbana

On the other side of the world Clare Maguire was embracing the sultry siren inside and teamed her rolled up, white wonder with knee high jewel encrusted boots, sheer tights and a netted fascinator complete with a revolver perched on top. Clare's red lips accentuated the provocative sensuality of this Glastonbury glamour. And I don’t know who that gun was aimed at but whoever she was signalling to had better watch out.

So what have we learned? That a white blazer doesn’t limit you to a wardrobe from the 80s but can also be treated with the mix and match ethos of today’s fashion. Whether it be for masculinity or femininity these celebrities prove that a white blazer can be the key piece to a killer look. How do you wear yours?
