Adele sweeps the board at the Grammy Awards, winning 6
The annual ceremony, held in the Staples Centre, started off on a sombre note as the evening’s host, LL Cool J, asked the celebrity packed audience to acknowledge the death of the singer, Whitney Houston, that died at 48-years-old. Rather than seeing the passing of the star as an opportunity to mourn, the Grammy Awards was a celebration of the singer’s achievements.
The awards were not overshadowed by the loss and it was Adele who shone like a true star on the night, bagging six awards that included Song of the Year for ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and also Album of the Year for her unstoppable 21. The Brit was as humble as ever and was warmly welcomed back to stage, causing a frenzy during a live performance of ‘Rolling in the Deep’. This performance marked her triumphant return to stage since undergoing throat surgery to save her voice, and what a voice it is. She tore the house down and received a standing ovation form gob smacked audience.
So, with six Grammys claimed, who were the other big winners?

Also scoring two awards was Skrillex, whose album, Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits, won him Best Dance/Electronica Album and his single, which goes by the same name, earned him Best Dance Recording.
Dave
Grohl in Dolce&Gabbana
Rock outfit, Foo Fighters, picked up two Grammys for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for ‘Walk’ and added Best Rock Album to the total with their LP, ‘Waiting Light’.
It wasn’t just Adele who floored the star-studded audience with a performance. Also there to entertain the audience was Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj (whose performance of Roman Holiday included an exorcism), Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys with Bonnie Raitt, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars… to name but a few.
