Pattinson vs. Lautner: 5 reasons to pick Robert Pattinson
The new installment of the Twilight Saga 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' is out and so our attention clearly turns to the stars. Robert Pattinson is at the center of a global battle (for want of a word) and has been caught in this game of tug-of-war for 5 years now. No matter how many awards have been won, the tears that are shed over them or the billion fan sites that have been made in their honour, no one can truly answer the question, ‘Robert Pattinson Vs. Taylor Lautner: Who is the best?’
This week we have delved into the world of Robert Pattinson to tell you why this guy deserves your vote.
Film:
First of all, he isn’t strictly Hollywood. This isn’t a loaded statement. It is merely an observation which came to fruition after looking at his acting career and the choices he has made. Yes, he currently resides within the bosom of Hollywood due to the epic Twilight Saga, but when we study the other films that he has blessed his presence with we see a calmer side to Pattinson. Unlike Lautner, he has chosen films that use his smoldering charms to full effect; 2008’s ‘How To Be’, 2010’s ‘Rember Me’ and this year’s ‘Water For Elephants’, in which he falls for the charms of travelling circus performer Reese Witherspoon. He obviously has a few scrapes along the way but he Britishness always shines through, which leads me on to my next point.
Nationality:
He is British. Need I say any more? People are a sucker for a British accent let alone a handsome British guy, which Pattinson clearly is. Enough of that though, he is British and the Brits are stereotypically polite, foppishly charming and they pay attention to their manners. What’s more is that he most probably has a pad in London, making all journeys to England worth your while (a.k.a shopping or saying hello to the Queen). If the adverts are to be believed, and if this is still the early 80s, then apparently English guys surprise their loved ones with boxes of Cadbury’s chocolates… where ever they are. Don’t believe me? Check the advert below.
Spontaneity is always a huge bonus and because Robert is British, then he must also act in this way, no?
Skilled Musician:
Robert Pattinson plays the guitar, plays the piano, he composes music AND he sings. Put these altogether and you can guarantee that a song that describes how he feels about you, whether it is friendship or love, will definitely be on the cards. When a film features a guy who is a talented musician, he always gets the girl.
Other formidable skills:
Supposedly, he’s good at improvising… if you know what I mean.

Style:
The style of Robert Pattinson has always had an air of casual ease about it, which is maybe why so many people seem to be drawn to him. He looks much more at ease with the whole style thing and also brings this approach to the red carpet. Whilst Lautner is often spotted with a tie in place, Pattinson opts for the open button look. Taking this into account, maybe this thinking is also evident in other areas of his life and he functions as a stress-free, easy-going kind of guy?
And those, my dear readers, are the five reasons to pick Robert Pattinson.
Next week, Lautner steps up to the challenge and we (try to) decide who is the reigning king of the Twilight Saga.
Stay Tuned.
