The Spanish star was spotted in Rome on set for the new Woody Allen film, which is based on Giovanni Baccaccio's 'Decameron', a series known for its tales of love from the erotic to the tragic.

Woody Allen's film is entitled 'The Bop Decameron', a romantic comedy, and uses the texts as the basis for four story lines that play out with Rome as the backdrop. The original collection is told through the narration of ten characters who find themselves together as they shelter away from plague-stricken Florence for 2 weeks. To pass the time each of the ten people tell one story every night. The topics of these stories are chosen by the daily alternating King or Queen of the group and range from tales of love tales that end happily; tricks that women play on men; tragic love tales; the power of human will etc.

Woddy Allen has used these tales to inspire his forthcoming release, which he will be starring in himself alongside Penelope Cruz who was spotted on set this week in Rome, striking a picture of beauty in red that was partially hidden by a silk, polka dot gown. The cover-up didn't last for long and Cruz was caught fanning herself (I thought she would have been waited on by fanning staff but I suppose we can't have everything) and the red lingerie was unleashed and got everyone feeling as hot as Penelope looked.

Penelope, who is no stranger to receiving acknowledgements, was given a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame two months and also a star in her native homeland to match and noted as one of Spain's most talented artists. This was obviously making her feel good and she even gave the hardworking crew an over-the-shoulder glance as she stepped off set with only the red of her heels to remind them of what she was wearing.

The film 'Bop Decameron' is due to be released next year.
