Andrea Riseborough & Natalie Dormer for Madonna's film, W.E.

Posted Sep 2, 2011

Madonna's directorial project, 'W.E.', premiered at the 68th Venice Film Festival and the leading ladies of the film stepped on to the camera flash lit red carpet for their photocalls. Strike a pose.

Andrea Riseborough and Natalie Dormer star in W.E (Wallis and Edward), a romantic drama that explores the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis SImpson and also a contemporary romance that blossoms through the story of a Russian security guard and a married woman... scandalous!

Andrea Riseborough, who starred in 'Made in Dagenham', a brit flick that took England by storm during 2010, is set to hit the big time with her performace as Wallis Simpson, who eventually becomes the wife of Edward VIII, who abdicated in order to marry her, and certainly did the same when she arrived for a photocall during the afternoon sun in Venice.

 Natalie Dormer in Dolce&Gabbana

Natalie Dormer, looking bitter sweet with sicilian lemons adding a zing to her dress, looked sensational on the red carpet for the premier of the film. She plays Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon whose husband suddenly becomes king when the desires of Edward VIII lead to his marriage to Wallis Simpson. Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon is better known as The Queen Mother and became a international grandmother to all that followed the happenings of the English Royal Family.

The film has already been commented on as having cinematography similar to that of a high end fashion commercial, but what of the total experience? We are yet to see what all the critics have to say about the film but look out for it coming to a cinema near you soon. For more celebrities on Swide:
