Mariacarla Boscono a Man for Shakespeare

Posted Feb 27, 2011

The top model played a man’s role in “The Winter’s Tale” directed by Imogen Kush. After few days, here she is again with a masculine look at Dolce&Gabbana.

Two days before the Dolce&Gabbana Women’s Winter 2012, Mariacarla arrived in Milan for fashion week and during the fittings of her looks, Domenico and Stefano ask her to try on many masculine ones from the collection. Trying the outfits, accessories yet to be defined, and styling to finish, Mariacarla looks through the stands of the private salon where the two designers coordinate style and the sequence of the show. She insists in wearing a masculine look. “Amazing! I was just a man for the theatre and now your collection is full-on masculine!”.

She told Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana about the theatre experience she just had in Rome, at Colosseum theatre, between February 1st and 17th with “The Winter’s Tale” directed by Imogen Kush who previously directed her in two plays. This time she played the part of a man in Shakspeare’s play denouncing chauvinism throughout history.

On style.it during an interview, Mariacarla pointed out how she prefers the theatre to the movies “I think I have a better inkling for theatre. The big screen always looks for Mariacarla the model, to be in the movies you need a pretty face with a different soul than mine.
