Leonardo, the elegant coach in Dolce & Gabbana

Posted Jan 10, 2011

Leonardo Nascimento de Araujo: a brilliant soccer case, from player to coach, an extraordinary career that is yet to show its outmost results.

It comes as no suprise that this man, Leonardo, has striken the media’s attention: good looking, a long outstanding career on his back, and recently the much discussed move from A.C. Milan to Inter Milan as a coach. As much as he likes to take chances in his career, when it comes to vanity and elegance, he keeps to the same team: in December 2010 his exclusive contract with Dolce&Gabbana has been confirmed yet again, although the entire Inter Milan team is dressed Costume National.

Born Leonardo Nascimento de Araujo, on September 5th 1969, Brazil, former leftback and then midfielder, later on manager of A.C. Milan. He came a long way from the beginning of his career at only 17 with Brazilian Club Flamengo and his first migration to European soccer with the Spanish Club Vanecla CF. A brief return to Brazil, where he received prestigious prizes, and he was back in Europe with St Germain in 1996. In the summer of 1997, he signed with A.C. Milan, played four Seasons and scored 22 goals. In 2008 he was appointed Technical director of A.C. Milan, named head coach in 2009. His legacy? The application of 4-2-1-3 tactic also named the 4-2 fantasy. A “difficult” year however, that saw him migrating to Inter. The 18-montg contract will expire in June 2012: what to expert? Another fantasy application on the field? Definitely not a fantasy shirt, there goes a statement of elegance.
