As we struggled to get through door frames this year with our extended shoulders it got us thinking about other 2009 fashion moments. Take a peek at the fashion moments captured on Facebook profiles the world over.

Did you adorn your hair or opt for a piece of Victoria Beckham's elegance? How many tulip skirts are hanging in your wardrobe and did you get your hands on that leopard print dress?

As attention turned to bank accounts the fashion world didn't let crisis go to its head - by quite literally adorning it. Madonna ever the early adopter turned up at the Met ball in a pair of Louis Vuitton's bunny ears - thus previewing the label's forthcoming ad campaign and simultaneously dividing the fashion world in one fell swoop.

Other fashion icon - Victoria Beckham was also never spotted far away from a headband. As she transformed her personal style from football wag to a modern-day Audrey Hepburn - a Dolce & Gabbana hair band it appeared was her subtle (shiny) ammunition.

With a new haircut in place - Victoria went on to cement her place in the fashion firmament with her own designs been seen on everyone from Gossip Girl's Blake Lively to Jennifer Lopez. After Victoria made a cameo in Gossip Girl, the rumours continue swirl as to whether Blake will front Victoria's forthcoming ad campaign...

Another day and another Gossip Girl cameo - this time from pop princess Lady Gaga. Wowing us with the weird, wacky and fabulous outfit changes Gaga gave us a truly baroque and rock'n'roll 2009.

Also delving into her baroque side was Alexa Chung who transferred her nonchalant Brit style to the states with resounding success. Rising to the same A-list status as her celebrity guests, Alexa proved a blow-dry and high maintenance do not a career make.

Another Brit girl proving her seemingly never-ending fashion savvy was supermodel Kate Moss - who being at the top of fashion's spiky pyramid was crowned with a Balmain dress.

Shoulders featured heavily this year amongst fashion's A-list. Rihanna joined the ranks at this year's Costume Institute Ball in a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo suit.

Elsewhere on the red carpet the A-list proved their style savvy and a - in a caring, sharing type of way - a shared fashion taste. Actress Scarlett Johansson was the first to showcase Dolce & Gabbana's twist on the traditional leopard print dress during Milan's fashion week in March 2009.

Elsewhere - Whitney made her big come-back in the very same dress...

And Madonna proved she was back on form and in the charts by celebrating in Milan in you guessed it that leopard dress.
