Posted Oct 20, 2009

Aside from the Clooney Cannalis saga, this year’s Rome Film Festival has gained a new reputation for its emphasis on female protagonists. We take a look at whom the women of this year’s festival are starting with Lily Cole star of the Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus.

Lily Cole (featured above) in one of Dolce & Gabbana’s demi-couture iconic corset dresses left her previous model-only tag far behind when she took to the red carpet with director Terry Gilliam for the premiere of the Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus at the Rome Film Festival earlier ths week.

The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus is the late Heath Ledger's final film role and features Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp alongside newcomer Lily Cole and Rose McGowan.

The Rome Film festival that runs until October 23rd will also play host to actresses Meryl Streep, Monica Bellucci and Stefania Sandrelli who plan to take a turn down its red carpet. In fact the festival will close with Franco Zeffirelli’s tribute to Rome, that features Italian actress Monica Bellucci.

Actress Rose McGowan who also stars in the Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus opted for a Marilyn Monroe moment on the red carpet in Dolce & Gabbana.
