Riley Keough, rock royalty destined for stardom

Swide's latest fresh face was born Danielle Riley Keough to parents Danny Keough and Lisa-Marie Presley. She's also the oldest grandchild to Elvis Presley. Even with a famous family background, Riley has excelled in both a modeling and most recent acting career on pure talent, alone. She began modeling at the tender age of 12 and soon after walked the runways of Milan for designers Dolce& Gabbana. Riley also landed a campaign as the face for Dior's Miss Cherie. In addition, she has shot for Vogue, Dior, Nylon, Elle, Dazed & Confused and many others all before graduating high school. Though she might be amazing at it, Riley wanted more than a modeling career, she wanted to act.

She got the chance to show off her acting chops her first film, a '70s biopic about teenage band The Runaways alongside Kirsten Stewart and Dakota Fanning. Riley plays Marie Curie, the sister of Dakota's character who isn't a musician. I“I think it’s good I didn’t play a musician,” Riley tells Women’s Wear Daily. “Because then it wouldn’t look like it was a coincident.” Since her mom is Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley, and her dad is musician Danny Keough — people would have easily thought she was favored if she got a role playing a musician.

Presley & Keough family portrait
Aside from the obvious resemblance to her grandfather Elvis Presley, Rile also takes after her grandmother, Priscilla Presley who was very timid in her youth. “It was really hard for me [to pursue acting] because I was really, really shy. That’s what I wanted to do, but I sort of gave up on it,” says Riley, because “I’m way too introverted and shy to act.”

In the latest issue of Wonderland magazine, Riley talks music and acting. "I definitely have a connection to music and I love music a lot, but professionally I love acting and I’m passionate about it as a career,” she says. And although Keough may have famous lastname, she definitely worked hard to get the part. “I auditioned for it and got a call back and then another call back and then screen tested and then got the part,” she beams. “It was my first audition".

Even if Riley only started acting, she already feels comfortable and doesn't let nerves get the best of her. “I went on a movie set and saw that you don’t have to talk loudly and put on this giant flamboyant show when you’re making a movie,” says Keough of her new-found feeling of ease. “It’s the most comfortable place for me. Obviously the first day of shooting is always really scary, but when I’m doing it, it’s just the best feeling in the world and the most comfortable I am at any point.”

The audition for “The Runaways” must have resonated well with Hollywood since shortly after, Riley found herself shooting “The Good Doctor,” in which she plays a hospital patient whose doctor (Orlando Bloom) falls in love with her and makes her sick to prevent her from leaving. We have a feeling this blonde bombshell will be gracing the silver screens for a long time coming. With lineage and inherited talent like hers, it's almost impossible not to become a full-blown star.
