No one does celebrating better than the Brits!

Turning thirty is one of life's memorable occasions and it seems right one should celebrate it in style like it ought to; it as the Brit Awards' turn last night and let's say they didn't disappoint. In fact all the key elements needed for a good party were very much there...
A catchy soundtrack - there can never be a good party without a decent DJ... or a world-renowned rock band if you're more fortunate (oh you lucky Brits!). Pop's leading name came together last night and they didn't just stick to the tired old "happy birthday" routine: Lady Gaga was her ubiquitous self, Cheryl Cole was sweet and Florence Welsh (without the machine) even offered her own rendition of "You've Got the Love" alongside Dizzee Rascal.

A smart dress-code - Nothing is nicer than seeing your guests turn up dressed to the nines. Craig David was the perfect example of the relaxed black tie chic one should favour on special occasions.

A hint of sex - Excitement comes in many ways but none quite as exciting as a strong, sexy female presence - and who better than Kylie to turn up the glamour volume! It may not have been our birthdays but we are feeling spoiled too!

Some friendly faces - When celebrating a special occasion the right company is crucial. No need to invite the loudest and most extravagant on the bunch when you can be surrounded by trusted old friends who you know you are bound to have a great time with. On that account James Blunt fit the job description perfectly.

Much laughing - Most importantly, besides the glitz and glam, remember at all times to let your hair down and have a good time!
