Margaret Madè: A diva is born in Venice

Posted Dec 29, 2009

Star of Italian film Baaria - the first Italian film to open Venice in nearly 20 years, it's also one of the most expensive movies ever made in Italy. We take a look at the new diva in action.

The film Baaria is a Sicilian family epic directed by Giuseppe Tornatore (Cinema Paradiso) that evokes 1930s Palermo. Said to have captured the magic of Tornatore's other masterpiece, the film also features a soundtrack from the Academy Award winning composer Ennio Morricone. (The film's trailer is below).

Star of the forthcoming film, actress Margaret Madè (which also features Monica Bellucci) attended the film's opening ceremony at the Sala Grande last night during the 66th Venice Film Festival. Wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress, the showstopping actress looked as if she's done this all her life. Margaret - we're watching you.
