Dakota Faning is sweet as "Cherie"

Posted Feb 26, 2010

Dakota Fanning is growing up in front of our eyes. The little girl we first fell in love with in "I am Sam" has evolved into a full grown, respected actress. We last saw Dakota in Twilight's "New Moon", but in her latest movie playing "Cherie Currie", she ditches her fangs for a rocking 12-string guitar.

Teaming up with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, Dakota stars as 70s rocker, "Cherie Currie" in "The Runaways". "The Runaways” explores the world of then, young rockers, Cherie Curie and Joan Jett. The Runaways found success at a young age and were the first all-female rock band to fill concert arena seats. The film follows the band’s formation and the frenzy surrounding the young act. For the film, Dakota Fanning had to embody the rock star persona that requires a bit of edge. That very edge has seem to lingered over into real life judging from Dakota’s risque Vogue Italia’s February editorial.

In the February issue of Vogue, Dakota sheds her innocent image and sexes it up in a Dolce & Gabbana corset. When describing her personal style, she told Vogue, "It's evolving. I've only just started getting familiar with the adult fashion world."

"The Runaways" is out in theatres March 19th, 2010.
