Alberto Ammann in Cell 211 by Daniel Monzòn

Posted Aug 7, 2010

8 trophies won at the Goya awards, a huge acclaim when released in Spain last November, Cell 211 is a thriller not to be missed.

Rediscover what suspense and action mean. Just released in France, it is a summer must see as soon as you need to cool down after a day in the sun.
Watching everything through the peephole, Daniel’s camera takes us behind some closed doors. It all happens in a Spanish prison where Juan Oliver ( Alberto Amman) a prison officer falls unconscious after an accident that occurred during his daily check tour and is taken to cell 211. From there the whole story turns political. Members of ETA (the militant Basque separatist organization) come into play and change the destiny of Juan. Nothing to loose, Juan will realise how it feels to loose its freedom… When there is only one way out.
Daniel Monzòn deals with a very serious subject that leaves nobody really neutral especially in Spain. Alberto Amman is stunning, Alberto and Daniel is a duo that works, after this memorable movie we cannot wait for a second one.
