La Biennale: Navid Nuur

Posted Jun 23, 2011

Navid Nuur has lent his creativity to the 54th Biennale in Venice and created two works inspired by the events strong thematic title ILLUMInations.

Nuur, from Tehran, was one of the lucky artists who featured in the Arsenale this year and also had a chance to create something new lending its inspiration to the theme this year’s Biennale. He created a skeletal installation of wires, metal piping and neon lights with exposed process and a second piece that reflected his illuminated representation of Venice.

Navid is interesting in how to freeze the creative process and has captured this in his works for the Biennale through his use skeletal framework and draped  plastic sheeting for one and the exposure of cables in the second piece that has been inspired directly by the skyline and lights of Venice.
