How many times have you wanted to fall out of bed looking amazing - effortless, just like the girl you stand next to in the morning in the Starbucks queue that is always so annoying well-dressed e-v-e-r-y-day. As we all know fashion is not about looking the same as everyone else at the disco - but rather, it's about catching the eye of everyone who see's you. This is only achieved of course with the lpe of lots of nice clothes that help project your lovely glow. The directive in Alex's vision is just this, "individuality, and breaking the conventional idea of a predictable uniform". Street luxe - sexy androgyny, a "vagabond meets street-smart modernist".
Based in NY, on his mantelpiece at the moment is the 2008 Vogue/CFDA award and the 2008 Swarovski Womenswear Designer of the year award.

“Italiana”: An Italian style comedy by Luca Finotti
The Matt Silk Collection for SS12 is cool, pretty and perfectly in tune with this season’s main trend: Fifties. Luca Finotti, an up and coming Italian director was charged with creating a video to contextualize the inspiration behind the glasses. Drawing from by the classic Italian Fifties comedies, the video tells a story of ironic jealousy between mother and daughter. Think classic car, Bianca Balti, vintage music, Italian scenery. The story for the video was created by Swide, styled by Yuri Ahn and directed by Luca Finotti. A Fifties day out for a contemporary woman.
