Who is Monsieur Qui?

Swide is back with its series on illustrators featuring this week Monsieur Qui. An old fashion style design achieved with a contemporary vision gives to his drawings a very unique appeal. From a blank paper canvas to a Parisian street wall, his brushstroke is definitely recognisable.
But who is Monsieur Qui? A “French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, handmade works, brass bands and sticks big posters in the streets of Paris…”
Our imagination is free to draw a portrait of a confirmed artist who has a lot to say and many ways to do it.

“Italiana”: An Italian style comedy by Luca Finotti
The Matt Silk Collection for SS12 is cool, pretty and perfectly in tune with this season’s main trend: Fifties. Luca Finotti, an up and coming Italian director was charged with creating a video to contextualize the inspiration behind the glasses. Drawing from by the classic Italian Fifties comedies, the video tells a story of ironic jealousy between mother and daughter. Think classic car, Bianca Balti, vintage music, Italian scenery. The story for the video was created by Swide, styled by Yuri Ahn and directed by Luca Finotti. A Fifties day out for a contemporary woman.
