We LOVE Irving Penn

A week is a short time in fashion - or so we thought until we managed to feast our eyes on quite literally something more substantial.
New magazine Love published by Condenast has just been revealed as the fastest-selling debut issue of all time according to their blog. Edited by the zeitgeist that is stylist Katy Grand - she's managed to combine the influences of two artistic legends - Irving Penn with another - Beth Ditto.
In one fabulous fashion snapshot for LOVE's first cover, the image literally captures the fashion moment. Unseen work by Irving Penn (including the featured image 'large nude woman seated' April 2004) is currently on show at a new exhibition entitled Extreme Beauty in Vogue, curated by another title close to our hearts - American Vogue.

“Italiana”: An Italian style comedy by Luca Finotti
The Matt Silk Collection for SS12 is cool, pretty and perfectly in tune with this season’s main trend: Fifties. Luca Finotti, an up and coming Italian director was charged with creating a video to contextualize the inspiration behind the glasses. Drawing from by the classic Italian Fifties comedies, the video tells a story of ironic jealousy between mother and daughter. Think classic car, Bianca Balti, vintage music, Italian scenery. The story for the video was created by Swide, styled by Yuri Ahn and directed by Luca Finotti. A Fifties day out for a contemporary woman.
