Touching Strangers

Posted Nov 29, 2008

What would you do if a photographer asked you to pose touching a stranger? A portrait series from photographer Richard Renaldi creates must-see viewing.

It seems a harmless question at first - a photographer asking you to pose touching a stranger. Richard Renaldi's new cult photography series reveals however the reality is anything but.

From a project entitled "Touching A Stranger" recently posted on his blogspot http://richardrenaldi.blogspot.com/2008/11/touching-strangers.html, the NY based photographer highlighted the reality of reaching out to someone unknown results in a variety of responses - from completely natural to obviously uncomfortable.

Renaldi hopes to continue the project and push the idea even further - his new book Fall River Boys will be out in February 2009 published by Charles Lane Press.

After looking at the pictures, I think you may agree - it may time a while before the whole world embraces one another.
