Spike Jonze: Where the wild things are

Posted Apr 30, 2009

The underground director and new beau of actress Michelle Williams, Spike Jonze, is the director of this forthcoming animated film, with soundtrack from Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The rumours are that if there's one movie set to win the most creative or unique award this year, it's Spike Jonze's "Where the Wild Things Are". Set for release later this year - its trailer is now circulating the internet for the benefit of those early adopters.

Take a peek below.

An adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler. The movie is a large step from Jonze's earlier work.

Jonze started his directorial career with the famous Beastie Boys: Sabotage (featured below), followed by Daft Punk's first single "Da Funk" and the Fat Boy Slim hit "Weapon of Choice" (nerd comment, the video contained 32 cuts).
