Jean-Luc Godard is once again ahead of the game

Jean-Luc Godard’ s latest production will be revealed next week during the 63rd Edition of the Cannes Festival. It will screen in the category “Un Certain Regard”. Only a trailer has been unveiled yet and is to be seen on a few websites such as Premiere.fr. Cannes' presentations are traditionally reserved to the film industry’s big players, this year Godard as decided to follow the theme of his movie and to give free access to Socialism online on www.filmotv.fr on 17th & 18th May, prior to its national release on 19th May. Socialism will be showed officially in Cannes on 18th May.

Godard has already proven himself to be a forerunner in the past but this web friendly action might be the first of many to come. Indeed it might be tomorrow’s way of “doing” Cannes…
Apart from Socialism, Godard’s classiques will also be available to download from the web, personally I cannot wait to watch again A bout de souffle that was Godard’s first try as a Film Director and as we know was immediately classified as being a chef d’oeuvre.
