It's time to become a voyeur

We take a peek at artist Frank Warren's secrets

We feel there is a postcard mood in the air right now. Post-email we're thrilled to receive little pictorial receipts of our friend's love. We feel it shows they care and perhaps more importantly they are smart enough to switch off their Blackberry’s when they travel. At this point I interrupt with a REAL LIFE STORY. Spotted on the Great Wall of China recently, and of course one of the Seven Wonders of the World nonetheless, three people on their Blackberries. Perhaps the view didn’t do it for them; perhaps I’m not busy enough?

Anyway, for the last three years artist Frank Warren has invited people to send him a postcard. Not the wish you were here sort but confessional notes which he publishes on his award winning blog postsecret.com. Like an international traveling exhibition (much easier this way and you can avoid the bad wine), one can log on and spend many a voyeuristic hour learning a) of other people's anguish and b) your inner and more scarier thoughts are reassuringly the same as others.

The site won’t be opening at The Gagosian Gallery or selling its work for six figure sums any time soon, but what we admire, about the blog is strangely its similarity to an old master - you can carry on looking at it everyday (or every hour…) and it never bores you.

Spread the confession. We won't tell if you won't.
