Eugene Souleimann reveals the artists to watch

Posted Apr 18, 2009

We caught up with leading hair stylist Eugene Souleimann backstage at the Dolce & Gabbana menswear show and asked him who are the artists we should hang next to our mirrors.

Our favourite Edward Sissorhands of the fashion world is a busy man and we couldn't help but wonder when he's going from show, to show - from Paris to Milan to New York and back to London, what is it that keeps his creative juices flowing?

Turns out its art - if you want your culture-fix backstage, this is the man to go to. He talks Swide through his top three artists to watch.

Tessa Farmer – an artist who creates skeletal creatures from plant roots that are gothic, sinister, and bewitching.

George Condo who in Eugene's words is “entering a new renaissance with his sick caricatures”.

The Chapman Brothers – say no more. They’re on the art world’s speed dial.
