Park Nights & film at Serpentine presents

Conceived
by Beatrice Gibson and writer-critic George Clark the film is a must-see, part
of a series of five commissions made by the Gallery’s Skills Exchange Project in
which creative minds work with the elderly. Premiering at the Serpentine
Gallery, it will then be available for screening at Sackler Centre for Arts
Education from 24 July to 19 September.
The focal point of interest of the short film is to be found in its construction: the script is the result of original transcripts from discussions in an older people’s care home and edited into a vertical structure through eight simultaneous monologues. A way to reflect upon the simultaneity of past present and future, a future one should not consider to be distant but engraved so to speak - vertically.

“Italiana”: An Italian style comedy by Luca Finotti
The Matt Silk Collection for SS12 is cool, pretty and perfectly in tune with this season’s main trend: Fifties. Luca Finotti, an up and coming Italian director was charged with creating a video to contextualize the inspiration behind the glasses. Drawing from by the classic Italian Fifties comedies, the video tells a story of ironic jealousy between mother and daughter. Think classic car, Bianca Balti, vintage music, Italian scenery. The story for the video was created by Swide, styled by Yuri Ahn and directed by Luca Finotti. A Fifties day out for a contemporary woman.
