#MFW – Natasha Slater shares her favourite places in Milan

Swide have teamed up with the Milano scene guru, Natasha Slater, to make sure that you are in know when it comes to Milan Fashion Week; whether it is where to meet, greet or eat, we’ve got it covered.

Milano Fashion Week is upon us and we, at Swide, want to make sure that those who are visiting the fair city understand that there is more on offer than just the Duomo. Swide has already highlighted some finds for you to discover, but now we want to ensure that you know where some of the best places to spot or be spotted at.

Natasha Slater, founder of the legendary club Punks Wear Prada, opened up her address book and took us on a whirlwind tour of what Milan has to offer the fashion crowd that’s descended the city.

First of all you want to make sure that you are keeping your energy up as you rush around the city, racing from show to social drinks to after party.

Fioraio Bianchi Caffe

First up is a little gem of a caffe/store, where grabbing a bite to eat can be easily forgotten about and, before you know it, your arms are full of bunches of freshly cut posies.  At Fioraio Bianchi, you can invite your friends for a much needed pause and a catch-up over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, whilst gazing at the beautifully arranged flowers (careful you don’t drop your crumbs). If you’re looking for something that will keep you going for longer, there is also a tempting lunch and dinner menu on offer – I recommend the Chorizo con misticanz e mozzerealla di bufala as a light bite.

Fiori on Via Savona

It is a little out of the way but Fiori not only offers affordable dishes in warm atmosphere, it also houses the local fashion kids that hang out there when not in the style office. Even during fashion week they can’t tear themselves away and you’ll understand why once you have chosen your seat and soaked up the atmosphere. All of this means that all you fashion bloggers can make sure that you are in the right place, with the right people and with the right kind of happening. The one problem is that this place likes remain elusive and we have no photo for you. But trust us, this place is a must for lunches and loungers.

Now, it is important that you wine and dine whilst in Milan. Italy is renown for its cuisine, whilst the city of Milan is better known for its fashion free for all. Here’s where to go to eat…

Giacomo Bistrot

Natasha Slater swears by this place for wining and dining, especially if you want to rub shoulders with all of those in the know. You will find top models, established designers and much more when you enter the doors of Giacomo Bistrot, all contained in a warm, elegant atmosphere. With its eclectic furnishings and quirky features, this bistrot has been a hot spot for fashion activity for years. Why not find out yourself? Booking is essential.

Get your glad rags on! It’s time to party.

Martini Bar And Corso Como, 10

For the perfect cocktail in the chicest atmosphere when you are dressed to impress, you want to get yourself down to Dolce&Gabbana’s Martini Bar. Here you can truly soak up the Bella Vita amongst Milanese notables (maybe even the designers), whilst sipping on a expertly mixed Martini. Also, if you find yourself at a loss or with cash burning a hole in your pocket, you can visit the Men’s Boutique that can be accessed via the heated courtyard. This place is a must.

Corso Como 10 has a night on Thursdays called CU@10CC and offers you the perfect opportunity to lounge about the concept bar, listening to slick beats that kick start your evening and prepare you for the weekend.

Punks Wear Prada A.K.A. PWP

You know that you can trust this legendary night by Natasha Slater for it has been attracting the hottest party people from around the world since it opened. Every Friday, PWP turns Via Santa Tecla in to an urban catwalk, a place where models cause mayhem, hipsters raise there hands high and the beats command you to dance. With its strict door policy make sure that you RSVP so that you are on the list and know the ever-changing dress code. Dressing to impress is a must! With the PWP paparazzi ready to click at any moment, you want to make sure that you are never caught out… but if you are, you do it in style.
