My parents came to visit me! It wasn't their first time in New York, but it was anyway very exciting for all of us.

 They stayed only for a weekend so my boss gave me a day off (love her), so that I could spend more time with them. We didn't do any “tourist” stuff, instead we just enjoyed the city. We've been walking a lot, discovered great places to eat and shopped a bit (favorite part!).

So I guess I'm gonna tell you everything about New York shopping! First of all I have to say that I love the village and it is my favorite place to shop. 

Bleecker is absolutely the best street, where you can find everything you can ever imagine. I love Marc by Marc Jacobs (403 Bleecker St),  great for fun accessories, Tommy Hilfiger (375 Bleecker) very preppy, but with a cool vibe and Bond n 5 (399 Bleecker Street) where my mom spent all my stipend (yep my “stipend”, because she said I'm too rich...as if). This is a great place if you need to buy gifts for your friends, every single fragrance has the name of an area of NY and you can also find amazing body lotions and perfumed candles. And while you're around don't forget to have a look at C'est Magnifique (120 MacDougal Street) the most original pieces of jewlery!

The best village brunch according to myself is at Cafè Angelique (68 Bleecker Street), where the french toasts is divine covered in strawberries, while according to my dad is Tartine (253 West 11th Street) where the tarte du jour is usually very good, but I'm more a sweets person...De gustibus... 

The second best spot to shop is definitely Soho. Broadway is basically a shopping jungle, there's Zara, H&M, Topshop and so on and so forth. But in addition to all the well-known retailers, there are some little precious gems, such as Bess (292 Lafayette) my favorite store ever, where I buy all my rock t-shirts slash studded shoes slash leather jackets, Scoop (473 Broadway), which is a true “griffes heaven” and Amarcord (252 Lafayette) a wonderful vintage store, where I discovered amazing pieces from Chanel to Halston. If you are hungry jump into Delicatessen (54 Prince Street), the first brunch on which me and my dad agreed and get the texas toast, it's tasty, not boring and filling!

Last but not least there is the upper east side! Unless you are Serena Van Der Woodsen, I don't really suggest shopping in this area of Manhattan, because it's a little bit expensive, but it's not forbidden to have a nice walk in the most amazing department stores of the globe. First stop Bergdorf Goodman (754 5th Avenue), seriously it is worth a visit, but try not to cry, I know it's hard, but shop assistants get very nervous about people whining. Second stop Barneys New York (660 Madison Avenue) great brands, traditional and emerging, check out Carven, in my wish list right now! Third Bloomingdales (59 St & Lexington Ave), a must for the Forty Carrots Frozen Yogurt at the seventh floor! Even my mom loved it and she barely eat sweets! Plus if you are a foreign visitor you get a 10% off on everything!

This is actually great, so forget what I told you before and definitely shop there! I hope these advices will be useful, and I guess I'll say goodbye wishing you a big “shop 'til you drop”!
