Eat, Relax, Love: Capri
Where:Capri is an Island in the gulf of Naples, in the Campania region, in South Italy. It has a quite complex morphological structure, as it presents mountains of medium height as well as inland plateaus – the main one named Anacapri. The Coast features caves and grottos.
What:The particular structure of the Island offers many sightseeing and must-see spots. Among them, Faraglioni, three small islands very close to the coast that are beautifully arranged to create a stunning landscape. Visit the Grotta Azzurra, too, that shelters unexpected bright colors, and meet your friends at the very famous Piazzetta (always the meeting place since the 50s when VIPs started to come here).
When:The city has been inhabited since pre-history. Modern excavations have shown that human presence on the island can be dated to the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. Capri was already popular in the ancient world, mentioned by Virgil in the Aeneid and a choice spot for many roman patrician villas. Following the fall of the Roman Empire Capri became part of the Kingdom of Naples. Napoleon then conquered Capri in 1806 and he turned into a powerful naval base. The island turned back to the Spanish Bourbons and then finally part of unified Italy in 1861.
Why:The Capri Palace is a magical place to spend your stay. Restaurant L’Olivo, two Michelin stars, presents a sublime cuisine by chef Andrea Migliaccio: innovation and tradition meet in his dishes that bring the Mediterranean to the table. Il Riccio restaurant, with a marine atmosphere, is always ready to make you taste not only the best meal but also the best desserts in Capri, while the Bistrot Ragù offers an informal environment with traditional cuisine. For a drink at any time head to Bar degli artisti, and to find out where the best wines for L’Olivo are picked go to tastings at “La Dolce Vite” Cantina.
The Spa at the Capri Palace is an unique as the rest of the resort. As well as traditional treatments such as massages and facials, the resident doctor, Francesco Canonaco has set up the “Leg School”. The methodology consists of a series of complementary treatments characterized by the application of rich active principles and vaso-active substances which help combat diseases in the lower limbs. Complementary bio-stimulation on a cutaneous and subcutaneous level which simultaneously increases the elasticity of the skin, thus preventing the formation of stretch marks. More importantly, it makes the legs look healthy once again through the use of truly unique formulas to combat sluggish blood circulation.
