It's here again: the gastronomic event of the year, Italy welcomes 12 Milanese restaurant kitchens all clustered on the Milan racecourse the Ippodromo, and much more... Swide tells you what you are going to experience at Taste of Milano.
From tomorrow until May 20th, the place-to-be for all the foodies is Taste of Milano.
“See you at Taste” is how you’re going to greet your friends if you are a local in the capital of fashion, design and...food for this week.

In it’s third edition, the event will take place at the Ippodromo di Milano, right where horse racing takes place, in the open-air. But what is it about? It's about enjoying 12 of Milan’s best restaurants all in the same ground: like a gigantic fair, each stand will have its own kitchen where 11 Michelin-starred chefs will cook and then serve their menu highlights (3 dishes each) for the visitors. A real “taste” so that you come back at the restaurant, if you will, and enjoy the whole experience.
Taste of Milano is a way to get – literally - much closer to the chefs and their cuisine, not only Italian. This year, in fact, there is a novelty, an international guest: Atul Kochhar from London, a two-starred Michelin chef of the high-end Indian restaurant Benares. Featuring Italian, regional, traditional, creative and international cuisine, Taste of Milano is a 360 degree gastronomic event. Don’t forget the wine tastings (with the Wine&Spirits Academy) and the live cooking (The Chefs’ Theatre) and workshops. New this year is an event discussing the importance of sustainability and quality of food, Taste HUB, a new structure created to promote enogastronomy in a fun way with 25 different talks held by experts, nutritionists, physicians, food stylists but also architects, illustrators... a total of more than 100 events over 4 days.
Among the restaurants, Alice Ristorante (Viviana Varese), Al Pont de Ferr (Matias Perdomo), D’O (Davide Oldani), Innocenti Evasioni (Tommaso Arrigoni), Ristorante Da Claudio (Filippo Gozzoli) and many more. What about kids? More than half of the participants will offer a fourth dish all dedicated to them so that they too can enjoy, high-end cuisine. This year, too, Taste of Milano has chose to be green: all the plates and the kitchenware will be biodegradable.
