The fashion set is known for their love of extravagant things and equally extravagant habits. These are no more obvious when looking at the way their fluffy pet companions live.
Who does not love a cute puppy or a fluffy kitten? It’s impossible to look into those cheeky yet lovable eyes without your heart melting a little bit, or in more extreme cases, going completely googly eyed and being smitten for life. Here we examine the deep and sometimes maddening love which unites some well known fashion faces and their celebrity fur balls.
Karl
Lagerfeld with Choupette
Karl Lagerfeld is known for his incredible talent at designing stunning clothes and his rather unusual dress sense and maxims on life and fashion. Attention however has moved away from his choice quotes to his cat. Choupette is the epitome of the fashion pet. She boasts two maids, a driver, fine porcelain crockery, 24h medical care, countless manicures and a few impressive shoots under her belt. Choupette is also credited as being Lagerfeld’s new muse, the Chanel SS12 150-shades-of-blue Couture show was inspired by the blue of Choupette’s eyes.
Anna
Dello Russo with Cucciolina
Anna dello Russo is the usual fashion suspect: over the top, loud, Italian and devoted to her dog, Cucciolina. Her Pincher goes everywhere she does and has taken part in many of Anna’s shoots, and interviews. Cucciolina is also a muse as her likeness is moulded on Anna Dello Russo's accessories collection for H&M. Oh and Cucciolina has her own Facebook Page.
Domenico
Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s with Labradors
Dalì, Rosa and Totò, are a happy trio in the Dolce&Gabbana household. The designers have a real love for dogs, Labradors in particular, and never to miss a beat on the concept of colour variety, Dalì is blond, Rosa is black and Totò is a chocolate. The Dolce&Gabbana pups live a rather privileged existence, going from Portofino to Taormina on holidays and getting to meet plenty of a-listers. Oh and their portrait (oil on canvas of course), has pride of place in the private rooms of the designers’ headquarters.
Armani
with Angel & co.
Giorgio Armani has a well known love for cats, in particular Persian cats, however we know little about why he loves them and how many he has or what their living habits are. What we are sure of is that they live in the lap of luxury and must lounge about on sumptuous Armani Casa sofas all day. Giorgio Armani’s love of cats pushed him as far as being the spokesman of a campaign which discouraged people from abandoning their pets, and Angel, Armani’s beautiful Scottish Fold stole the show.
Valentino with his family of Pugs
Valentino Garavani is an extravagant fashion creature, and in turn he loves those unfortunate looking creatures that are pugs. Valentino hates to be apart from the little family, Molly; the mother, Milton and Monty, her sons, and her daughters, Margot, Maude and Maggie. When travelling on his 14-seat Challenger jet, three cars are needed to move Valentino and his entourage to the airport: one to move Valentino, another for the luggage and the staff, and a third to transport five of the six pugs. One of them, Maude, always travels with Valentino.
Chrissy
Teigen with Pippa and Puddy
Model Chrissy Taigen and boyfriend John Legend are smitten with the newest member of their household, a French Bulldog puppy called Pippa. For the past few months the couple have been unable to stop tweeting about the puppy and delighting us with cute pictures of the happy family. As with children, the older dog needs his attention too, so he gets plenty of cuddles and even gets to bathe with his mama. Lucky Puddy…
Cindy
Crawford with Sugar and Widget
Cindy Crawford, supermodel, mother and dog stylist, yes dog stylist. Cindy may have stepped off the catwalks but she is yet to give up on fashion all together. Her Maltese Yorkies, Sugar and Widget are a rather fashionable set owning tens of outfits. From wedding dresses for Widget, to sweaters and holiday themed outfits like antlers, there is never a dull moment when in the Crawfords’ household.
Miranda
Kerr with Frankie
Fashion model Miranda Kerr has a deep and meaningful relationship with her toy Yorkshire dog Frankie. The adorable pooch goes everywhere she does, and has even been featured as an extra in some of her fashion shoots. This pampered pooch has also been spotted sitting in son Flynn's pram on Bloom family days out, after all those tiny legs can’t keep up with Kerr’s runway stride.
Lara
Stone with Bert
Fast becoming the most sociable pet pooch in showbiz, Border Terrier Bert was seen touting a special tuxedo to Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball earlier this year, with model owner Lara Stone and her husband David Walliams.
Kate
Moss with Archie
Supermodel, fashion muse, entrepreneur and it girl Kate Moss has won two more accolades since her marriage to Jamie Hince: wife and dog owner. Staffordshire mix Archie forced Kate Moss to rethink her sartorial choices and dress "more Day" upon welcoming him into the family. "It's a nightmare. You can't do a dog in heels," conceded the British model.
