He’s been the dream boyfriend for teenagers around the world for decades and is probably one of the most talked-about stars of all time - the rumors have covered equally his movies (he is a good actor, he is a bad actor) and his private life (Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes, daughter Suri, Scientology), but the bottom line is that officially at 50 years old, Tom Cruise is still on set with a new movie, Rock of Ages, and on everyone's lips due to his recent divorce.

Though the a breakup is always difficult, we would rather talk about the former subject at hand, the film that sees Tom Cruise star in a musical comedy directed by Adam Shankman (who also directed Hairspray). Set in the 80s, the storyline sees a small town girl, Sherrie, and city boy, Drew, meet in Hollywood while chasing their dreams and eventually fall in love. You know, the usual kind of story-line that goes with these epic musical kind of films. Not that this is a bad thing, at all. 

Cruise plays a famous rock star, Stacee Jaxx, who's Drew's idol and is booked by the owner of a club (Alec Balwin, Dennis). The plot gives a glimpse of the ins and outs of being a Hollywood star, while leaping through the themes of love, life and rock 'n' roll.
