It looks like 2012 is set to be a big one for the Queen B, Rachel McAdams. With ‘The Vow’ and an untitled Terrence Malick project in the pipeline, featuring on the cover of Glamour and paired with her chameleon like career choices (as well as her hair colour) it is no surprise that Rachel McAdams has her own red carpet admirers.

Since 2001, the Canadian beauty, Rachel McAdams, has been slowly pawing out a soft spot in our hearts. Whether it was the tragically romantic ‘The Notebook’ (2004), her turn as the toppled Queen B in ‘Mean Girls’, creating tension in ‘Red Eye’ (2005) or the sleuthing skills of Irene Adler in ‘Sherlock Holmes’ (2010-11) – McAdams has shown that she has talent, and lots of it. These roles have also seen her become quite the chameleon when it comes to her hair colour and, it would seem, she has gone full circle. She is back to blonde and looking as beautiful as ever in a photo shoot that captures a glimmer of vintage Hollywood glamour, and quite rightly so (no no I’m not saying she should be classed as vintage). The actress has become quite the starlet and has bagged roles that have been as diverse as her ever-changing locks.

Rachel isn’t only recognised as an on-screen siren but also as an inspiration… to the stars. I am talking about Selena Gomez, who told OK! Magazine that she admires the actress and said, ‘I love the choices she's made and the way she seems to be playing out her career. I'd love to talk to her and figure out why she does what she does”. Isn’t that nice? Oh, and there are the magazine covers that she stars on, with this month seeing her on the cover of Glamour Feb2012. Well, I’m sure with all this that McAdams isn’t short of an admirer or two and she is set to round up some more with her future projects.
First up is ‘The Vow’, directed by Michael Sucsy, which sees Rachel as Paige who, after a car accident that leaves her in a coma, wakes up with severe memory loss. The touching screenplay sees Channing Tatum play her easy-on-the-eyes husband Leo, who sets about winning her heart all over again. It is guaranteed to get you weeping, including the guys, so this is first date material. If you want to get a feel for the movie, the trailer is after the jump.
Then there is the untitled Terrence Malick project, which is currently in post-production, that has scored a flurry of notables; Rachel Weisz, Javier Bardem, Jessica Chastain, Ben Affleck and, of course, Rachel McAdams, to name but a few. The work of Terrence Malick, which has featured on Swide, includes huge hits such as ‘Tree Of Life’ (2011), ‘The New World’ (2005) and ‘The Thin Red Line’ 1998. The work of Malick is highly regarded and landing the lead role as Jane must have put a spring in her step. Touching upon divorce and reconnection, this untitled project tells its story through a romantic drama. No trailers are available yet but, if we are to compare it to his last effort ‘Tree of Life’, we can expect good things.
One thing is for is for certain though, for a young woman who changes her hair as much as she does, whatever role Rachel McAdams takes to she never fails to impress. And I, for one, look forward to seeing her star rise during 2012.
