The countdown for the opening of The Hunger Games (which was seen in with a countdown during the run-up on the official website dedicated to the movie), the big production movie inspired by Suzanne Collins homonymous novel, is literally down to 0 in the US. 

In a not-too-distant future, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States.

Long ago the twelve districts waged war on the Capital of Panem, only to be defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl - selected by lottery - to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, are pitted against bigger, stronger representatives  who have trained for this their whole lives.  Katniss's best friend Gale Hawthorne is played by young and handsome Liam Hemsworth.

Australian but American by adoption (in order to pursue his career), Liam is not new to a small screen career: he acted as guest spot in shows like Home and Away and McLeod's Daughters, and then proceeded with more relevant roles in Satisfaction series and opposite Sylvester Stallone in Stallone's 2010 film, The Expendables. If you are still debating whether go seeing the movie (to be released in Italy on May 1st), doubt no more after having checked out Liam in a Dolce&Gabbana suit at the Premiere of The Hunger Games in Los Angeles on March 12th.
