Fashion moves so quickly, and well the Dolce&Gabbana SS13 show was over in a flash, and the concept of contemporary Sicilian folk was already out on the streets, well red carpet actually.
Both Elizabeth Moss and Kirsten Dunst, two of our favourite American blond bombshells rocked the Sicilian Folk look just moments after the fashion show.
Kristen
Dunst, in her signature elegant, understated and chic style chose a sweet 1950s
style cotton dress with black and white horizontal stripes (very SS13). The
flared skirt and capped sleeves give this dress a very vintage feel, yet there
is something exceptionally modern in the way Kristin is carrying it for her
appearance on Good Morning America. The bright yellow weaved raffia belt is the
real element of folk here- showing you that exquisite details from the over the
top SS13 Fashion Show can easily be taken to an everyday level.
Elizabeth
Moss is rather more glamorous at the Emmy Awards which took place in LA on
Sunday evening. Her Mikado dress, with ruffles, gathered bodice and beautiful
lily of the valley print retains an element of folk in its silhouette, rather
than its print or material. The ruffles, the longer skirt at the back and
shorter at the front have that almost flamenco or tarantella look where all you
want to do is click your heels and sound those castagnettes.
