With the filming of the ‘Carrie’ remake underway and a massive 5 other films in the pipeline for the young actress, Swide wonders what’s next for Chloë Moretz. Well, according to rumours, very exciting rumours that is, it is said that she is going to reprise her role as Hit Girl in the cult hit, ‘Kick-Ass’.
We were already stoked about the thought of Moretz taking on the role of ‘Carrie’ in Kimberly Peirce’s modern reinterpretation of Steven King’s ridiculously famous horror novel. The novel had cinema lovers of the late 70s hiding into their popcorn when Brian De Palma directed the first silver screen incarnation, and now it’s time to see what a modern twist can do. With Chloë Moretz taking the lead, it is sure to be a massive hit and, with her acting experience to date, guaranteed to win over fans of the original screenplay.

Chloë Moretz is used to her horror flicks and starred in the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror, proving that her potential to be a scary prom date is full of promise. If there is any heavy action scenes involved in the modern screenplay, then she’s got that covered too. 2010’s ‘Kick-Ass’ gave her career more than just a subtle push; it practically put her on every casting director’s wishlist!

So are the rumours true? Will Chloë be putting her superhero mask back on and fighting crime as Hit Girl? Well, the script is written and the budget has been confirmed; now all that is left is to find out who of the original cast will return for the sequel. The young cast members (Aaron Johnson, Chloë Moretz and Jeff Wadlow), when they dealt with the original contract, never signed up for a sequel but rumour has it that the deal is almost done! Yes, please!

Famous for the expletives that Hit Girl fired at the villains, it was when Chloë Moretz dropped the ‘C’ word that the world really stood up and took note of who the young actress was. How will she outdo it? There is no way of telling but, even if they are only rumours, the thought of the sequel, which has been given the apt makeshift title of ‘Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall’, is a comforting one.
