With all the media buzz around the arrival of Jay-z and Beyoncé’s child, Blue Ivy Carter, it would be quite easy to put the proud parents on the back burner while she laps up all the attention. Jay-Z and Beyoncé, however, aren’t letting that happen. There are projects in the pipeline and baby blue is leading the way.
His hip-hop career is notable, his rapping skills some of the finest and his management skills enviable; now Jay-Z, one of the modern fathers of hip-hop, is adding parenting to his C.V. The same can also be said for Beyoncé.
Ever since Blue Ivy Carter arrived on the scene, the press haven’t really known how to divide their attention. One thing is clear though; the world is watching this young family and waiting to see how the globally adored daughter (even if most of us still haven’t seen her) will grow up in the limelight. Seeing as her parents are R’n’B royalty we can already assume that Blue Ivy will be musically inclined and it seems as if her training starts now.
No no, she is not in the studio (that would be absurd) but Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been rumoured to be hard at work, getting ready for new releases for 2012. Yes, it would appear that the arrival of their daughter has given the couple a surge of inspiration and they are putting their thoughts on paper when they can snag a moment to themselves.
Jay-Z has been said to be planning on producing two records this year, a solo project and one with Kanye West. The most recent release from their ‘Watch The Throne’ album, ‘In Paris’, has already spread like wild fire and has gained much attention since its video release in February. The video has had a spot of backlash from a small number of groups but that hasn’t stopped the record being a favourite for those who like their bass down low since the albums release back in August 2011 on the label, Roc-A-Fella.

He also made an appearance at the after show following his performance at Carnegie Hall to Benefit The United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Foundation.
Beyoncé, however, is taking it a tad slower in her approach towards her new album and is roping in a few familiar faces. The writer of her single ‘Halo’, Ryan Tedder of One Republic, is working with the superstar and he told Billboard that, ‘ the conversations about her new album literally just started and there are two projects happening’.
So, Ivy Blue Carter is going to be exposed to the creative process of writing a hit song from an early age and maybe she’ll be able to give them a critique of what them write through by the volume of her wailing.
With the promise of new material in the pipeline for one of America’s most loved couples, we at Swide are excited to see what happens.
