Kylie Minogue: Theatre is inspiring and terrifying

The GQ Men of Year 2011 awards was a hot topic this week; the winners, the performers and the throngs of handsome hunks that turned up to take part in the proceedings. But, it wasn’t just the men who were getting attention… enter Kylie Minogue, who has a musical in the making

The princess of pop arrived wrapped up in a dark emerald Astrakhan fur coat (Summer?? This is London were talking about), cinched in at the waste by a simple black belt and given an extra kick by her leopard print heels.  As soon as she stepped on to the red carpet the flash bulbs were popping and made the love that we have for Kylie Grow even stronger.

She was on hand at the GQ Men of the Year 2011 awards to present England’s genre fusing musician Tinie Tempah, who broke on to the music scene with hit ‘Pass Out’ and has been gaining popularity amongst the critics ever since, the Best Solo Artist award.

He was looking particularly dapper in a suit complete with bow-tie looked pretty darn happy during his photocall with Kylie... who wouldn't be? The Writer of the Year awar went to legendary Keith Richards and International Man of the Year was picked up by Bradley Cooper, star of 'The Hangover'. Kylie did not pick up an award at the event but has won many an award for her outstanding solo career and yesterday, 8th September, was the 10th anniversary of the international hit that put Kylie back on top of her game, ‘Can’t Get You Outta My Head’.

During her multi faceted career, Kylie has notched up numerous hits that never get old through her ability to inject and rework her music with a fresh approach. It is no surprise then that she has been working on her very own musical (scream), which has been in the pipeline for a few years but, finally, she is committing to the project. When asked about the project, Kylie said, “I love the theatre, I love the vibe of a live show, which was very inspiring and terrifying”, which is understandable because she is a perfectionist. There is no information about about when we can expect this career milestone to take place but we know that she is in safe hands, as always, for she is working with her stylist William Baker.

I am a huge Kylie Minogue fan and the thought of her songs being brought to life, as a musical is something that will give me endless impatience until I know that there is a date for the premier booked in my diary. They say patience is a virtue… sometimes it is just a pain.
