The Cannes Film Festival is the epitome of European high glamour on the French Riviera. Sun, surf and…suits. Swide catches three stars who put their best foot forward in Dolce&Gabbana. Gerard Butler, Mathew McConaughey and Zac Efron got suited up to face the onslaught of press photographers that infest every event at Cannes.
Gerard Butler was in town to attend the amfAR Gala which raised funds for AIDS research. Butler doesn’t have a film showcasing at the festival but is working on three new projects. Comedy ‘Movie 43’, Surfing biopic ‘Of Men and Mavericks’ about the life of American surfer Jay Moriarty and ‘Playing the Field’ – the usual romantic comedy fare. In December Scotsman Butler was hospitalised after an accident during a surfing stunt during filming. Nice to see he’s fully recovered.
Mathew McConaughey looked sharp and relaxed in Dolce&Gabbana classic suit with an open necked shirt. Here is is pictured at the photocall for his latest film The Paperboy. The film is set to compete for the cocvetted Pald’Or prize. Based on the novel by American writer Pete Dexter, the film stars Nicole Kidman as Charlotte Bless and has critics all hot under the collar over her performance. Zac Efron turns up in The Paperboy playing McConaughey’s little brother. He followed his big brother’s example and wor Dolce&Gabbana to the Premier of The Paperboy.
