'I'm Anna Dello Russo & I'm Wearing Dolce & Gabbana'

I saw this video of Anna Dello Russo a few days ago and thought: if only presenting ourselves to the world could be this simple, fun and cool: 'Hi, I'm Anna Dello Russo and I'm wearing Dolce&Gabbana.'

At the Dolce&Gabbana show, there were a lot of celebrities, bloggers and editor-in-chiefs dressed in sequined Dolce&Gabbana pieces: even Ellen Von Unwerth had opted for a sequined jacket from the FW 11 collection for the private dinner at GOLD restaurant that night.

Being the PR, I had previously spent quite a lot of time in our showroom in Milan; styling various looks, choosing different pieces for a variety of contacts and attending some important fitting sessions yet when I saw that sequined starry dress, I knew nobody could top it off if not Anna Dello Russo herself.

It's one of those pieces that as it runs down the catwalk, you go: 'Now who could ever wear THAT!?' It's an attention-grabber. That's for sure. It's also one of these ego-fillers, the ones that by the time you have them on you start feeling like someone else: so you act a bit colder, a bit tougher and a bit snobber, if you wish. Yet Anna Dello Russo arrives to our rescue right at that point: she wears the dress right off the rack, gets the camera in her hand and starts shooting the photographers shooting herself. She adds a touch of humor to that big glamour, a touch of irony to that satisfying fame and a touch of herself to that outfit. She's Anna, and she wears Dolce&Gabbana. And no starry dress could dim the starry light she has in her eyes as she smiles for the cameras.

Now tell me, isn't that Alan Journe piece on her head what we'd call 'the cherry on the pie' situation? J'adore ADR.
