What happens when MAGIA 2000 turns a fashion icon like Anna Dello Russo into a classic like Barbie?
The
news was out: Magia 2000 was doing an audition for a Anna Dello Russo makeover.
The chosen Barbie would be taken to the best hairdresser in town to get the ADR
hairdo, and to the Dolce&Gabbana store to get the signature outfit of the
italian fashion icon. All the Barbies in town got dressed up in order to win
this opportunity. In the auditions, I observed that everybody was wearing black
sandals matched with a simple yet sexy black dress. Magia 2000 was feeling
generous so the creative duo, Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, decided to take
all the dolls to a big styling session. They would all be dressed up as Anna
Dello Russo look-a-likes and the best one would get the chance to meet the icon
herself.
First
they went to the Dolce&Gabbana store in Via Spiga 26 to try on some shoes.
From pink pumps to black sandals, all of them looked amazing. There was one girl
who tried on green-ish wedges and got eliminated from the contest right that
moment: Wedges've never been a signature of Anna Dello Russo look and would've
never been... So if she didn't know that, she would better get back home. Ok.
Then
they went to the dressing rooms to try on everything they found. From leopard
clutches to pink coats, from sequined tops to lace trousers... Yet Bianca
refused to change her bob cut. Magia 2000 insisted that this haircut made her
look like Anna Wintour rather than Anna Dello Russo, so it was quite a no-no!
When she said she couldn't live without her bob, they sent her back home. The
Asian Barbie was so sweet yet she didn't have the looks to resemble Anna. One of
the brunettes chose the Dolce&Gabbana lace dress with a red corset inside
and a leopard clutch... That one won all the hearts.
Here
she is. Meet Rebecca, The Anna Dello Russo Look-a-like in Dolce&Gabbana. The
combination of blonde curls, lace dress, leopard touches, red corset and sexy
lipgloss got her the winner position.
Next
thing she knew, she was in her arms of her favourite fashion icon, Anna Dello
Russo, in her very own apartment. Being a Barbie was one thing, being a Anna
Dello Russo look-a-like Barbie was whole another level. And she loved it.
