Serena Williams keeps her eye on the ball(gown)

We often wondered what happens next after you've won Wimbledon. Is it straight to Bungalow 8 to guzzle champagne or a bath and bed?

We had no idea there was such a thing as a Wimbledon winners dinner - and that the same evening is fast becoming a tribute to the "anti-cinderella" as the U.K Telegraph's newspaper has termed it.

According to a recent article, his late arrival (and by this we mean not making it to the ball until midnight) is fast becoming a Wimbledon tradition. This year Roger Federer made his entrance at the dinner's location, a Park Lane hotel as guests had already finished the champagne and were onto dessert.  Apparently last year Rafael Nadal didn't arrive until around 1am, and in true British fashion, no-one thought to complain (out loud).

With a third Wimbledon title and 11th Grand Slam championship win (Serena beat her sister Venus 7-6 (3), 6-2)  Serena Williams for one didn't appear to care, opting to have her own 'ball' (we couldn't help it, apologies) moment changing out of her "Are you looking at my titles?" t-shirt into a D&G gown.
