Picked by Lynn Hirschberg, W ‘s Editor at Large, and photographed by Ines Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Martin, Kat illustrates power, confidence and young talent.
“I like girl power. I love the ladies”, Kat expresses very well what most of young ambitious women feel today. A claim for power that has evolved since the early days of the feminist movement. It is not about women vs. men, but how women are different and powerful in their own very unique way. Alongside Yaya Da Costa, Jennifer Lawrence, Greta Gerwig, Jessica Chastain, Emma Roberts, Zoe Kravitz and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kat complete a celebrity selection that is eclectic and rich. Stefano Tonchi did a great job for his first issue with this hype kids in the city cover. Does this ring a bell? You might have discovered Miss Dennings in the “Hot Child in the City” episode of HBO’s “Sex and the City” in 2000.. If not maybe in “The Answer Man” by John Hindman last year or in “Shorts” by Robert Rodriguez.
“Daydream nation” by Michael Goldbach is to be released very soon; Kat plays a
girl caught in a love triangle with Josh Lucas and Reece Thompson.
Her career seems to have speeded up this year; for 2011 we can already look
forward to “Thor “ directed by Kenneth Branagh where she gives the cue to
Nathalie Portman.
