The thing with being cool, as we all know, is that you either have it or you don't. There we were checking out celebrity images from Cannes' red carpet, when our computer mouse stumbled upon an actor that didn't immediately ring bells.
French crooner, Johnny Hallyday pictured above in Dolce & Gabbana appears to be seeking his style vengeance from the Cannes upstarts. As well as being a iconic singer in his native france - veteran French rocker Johnny Hallyday stars as a father out for blood in "Vengeance", this new stylish thriller released this summer.
In To's film Johnny plays a French chef with a mysterious past who goes to Macau after his daughter and her family are gunned down there. Swearing revenge, he joins forces with a band of local gunmen to hunt down her attackers.
Hallyday's presence in a role originally intended for famous French actor Alain Delon, is said to have drawn inspiration from the atmospheric thrillers of French directors such as Jean-Pierre Melville.
