Oh how excited must have Gordon Brown felt to finally get a chance to put his party tie on! It's been a bleak year for those in charge of governing a credit-crunched nation but fortunately the splendid success of some can help forget the hardship of many. This season's Formula One champion was honoured last night at the Autosport Awards with a double victory as best International and British driver of the year. "A brilliant ambassador to British sport" as Gordon pointed out... and a brilliant excuse to let one's hair down before Copenhagen!
