We assumed Mariah wouldn't go anywhere without her lipgloss, but that was before we spotted her in new film Precious. Following in the footsteps of Halle Berry and Charlize Theron, Mariah takes off the make-up.
Despite Mariah looking on full-on diva mode on the Cannes red-carpet in a little black Dolce & Gabbana dress - flip to the big screen and you'll see (quite literally) a quite different face to Mariah.
The film, Precious which has just premiered in Cannes, has already won critical acclaim and won the Audience Award and Grand Jury prize for best drama at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
The film which also stars Lenny Kravitz is adapted from the novel, Push. Set in Harlem in 1987, it tells the story of an overweight, illiterate girl who becomes pregnant with her second child at the age of 16 after she is raped by her father. Focusing on a human's capacity to overcome whatever is thrown in their way - the film is quite aptly jointly produced by Oprah Winfrey.

Gabourey Sidibe plays the title role after director Lee Daniels discovered her on the streets of New York, whilst Mariah complete with a dodgy haircut and unflattering blouse plays a social worker - with not a private jet in sight.
