 In the sketch above, the outfit designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for the A.C. Milan players to wear at this year's TIM Trophy tournament held in Pescara. The ninth edition of the annual summer tournament sees A.C. Milan, Inter and Juventus pitted against each other once more.

The TIM Trophy has become a pre-season classic as it offers a glimpse of what the upcoming season has to offer. A.C. Milan, Inter and Juventus face each other in a triangular format of three games of 45 minutes each. This year's event will be characterised by a series of charity initiatives set up to help the Abruzzo people struck by last April's earthquake. One of the schemes, organised by Mediafriends, is to collect donations via text messages. The funds raised will go to the 'Direzione Didattica Rodari' in L'Aquila, an association of 16 school complexes spread throughout the surrounding territory that cater for approximately 1,000 children aged 3-14 . Many of the school buildings were seriously damaged by the earthquake and most of them will be out of use during the next school year, so modular units will be used to create temporary classrooms enabling all the pupils to return to school from 21st September 2009.

Four jerseys donated by each team participating in the tournament will be put up for auction, with the proceeds going to Mediafriends.

The event will also be used to present Nutrilite's charity initiative 'Goal by Goal', which is set to continue in the 2009-10 season. A.C. Milan sponsor Nutrilite will make a donation of $10,000 to the A.C. Milan Foundation for every goal scored by Ronaldinho in official games in Italy. The money raised will go towards a solidarity project in Abruzzo.
