Red Carpet body beautiful secrets are becoming more and more accessible to us ‘normal’ folk. This week, Katy Perry celebrated her love for Spanx.
Not that is was particularly an embarrassing secret to start with, but Katy Perry has admitted that most of her red carpet looks are achieved with the use of the body flattering Spanx. Yes, every body conscious woman’s best friend are also allowed on the red carpet… and who could blame the celebrities that uses the flattening underwear?
She is not the only one who puts her faith in Spanx, no no; Beyonce, Oprah, Siena Miller, Julia Roberts and even Miley Cyrus are all partial to slipping on some spanx before hitting the red carpet. So, it would seem that there is no shame in celebrating a nifty little wardrobe secret that is supported by some of the world’s top celebrities. But aren’t celebrities supposed to be committed to the gym, setting an example?
Well, Katy Perry went on to say to US Weekly that, ‘I like to say I run on the elliptical for 30 minutes watching CNN, but I don't do it often enough. So I'm just like, 'Oh, I guess I'm not fitting into this dress for these couple of months’.
We don’t know what you think of this kind of talk but it’s always good to hear that these famous females are open to being a tad more realistic towards the expectations that gossip columns set upon them. And, there is no better source to trust on this way of thinking than the record breaking Katy Perry, who has just signed up to create a new line of fragrances with Coty, a company that already distribute Meow and Purr.
Spanx have been changing the shape of women’s silhouettes since 2000, having been born from the frustrations of Sara Blakely, who found it ridiculous that she couldn’t find pantyhose without seamed toes. It was when Oprah Winfrey endorsed the product on her show that Spanx went AWOL and eventually crept their way into the wardrobe’s of men, too.
So, there is certainly no shame in Spanx and embracing who you are.
Which is your favourite Spanx wearing Celeb?
