I can’t believe
this is raw food!
Raw desserts are my new recipe-hunt discovery, probably the best thing that happened in my kitchen since I discovered quinoa. Let me tell you why: raw desserts are healthy, tasty, and free from all the sugar, flour, butter and cream of traditional recipes, but with a taste that will make you scream to the top of your voice: “I can’t &%$£! believe this is healthy (and raw)!”
How does the magic work? Where does the dough comes from? From nuts, well soaking nuts is the key for raw baking as it works as a replacement for wheat flour. They add a lot of flavor, and variety with different nuts paired with different ingredients.
So first step: fill your kitchen with nuts (cashews, almonds and walnuts) seeds (hemp, chia and pumpkin) and what will be the substitute for sugar; dried fruit (specially dates, raisins and prunes). Coconut oil and cacao powder are also very important ingredients in many of these no-cooking recipes. Remember no-oven needed means less mess and less clean up. A raw kitchen is a clean kitchen.
And the best part, all these delicious treats will not only calm down your sweet cravings, but also help you live by the a raw food philosophy, which is said to enhance your body’s ability to prevent and fight diseases, especially chronic diseases. Eating raw food will also make you have more energy and will improve your skin.
