Hairstyles for Spring Summer 2013 season

The 8 best hair trends that emerged form the Spring Summer 2013 fashion shows

Hair should never be an afterthought. In fashion shows the hair is intrinsic to a trend, and the same should be at home.

The Spring Summer 2013 catwalks showed a number of different hairstyles, with one main trend going through most cities and designers: messiness. Unkempt, rocker style hair has overtaken the sleeked back look from Fall Winter.

Dolce&Gabbana- Foulard

The headscarf is back on the map with vintage inspired summer looks. Just pin hair up, in a slightly messy air and tie a folded foulard around the head. For an extra touch of trendy glamour, make sure the knot is off centre.

Marni- Messy bun/ponytail

Forget the tidy hair do and go a bit wild. Marni and others showed us that an accidental looking hair do could be very chic. Probably the easiest hair style you’ve ever had to muster- tie your hair up in a ponytail, backcomb and loosely pin strands back towards the head, leave some loose for effect.

Chanel- Middle parting

The middle parting is making a come back as on the Chanel catwalk. In keeping with the no-fuss hair trend, just part your hair and tie it in a bow or ponytail and leave the house.

Giambattista Valli- Need a wash?

Yes, there is no other way for me to describe the hairstyle, apart from dirty. Swept back and textured at the roots, this look is easy to achieve. Go natural and don’t wash your hair, or sweep it back without a partying and add some dry effect gel, tousle the length for that just out of bed look.

Bottega Veneta- Messy bun

Have you been perfecting your tidy bun technique all winter? Now you don’t have to, it’s all about the unkempt bun. Important for it to look homemade, so just try your best and you’ll look right on trend.

Moschino- Buffon

The sixties beehive type hair is still going strong. This season, only a half bee hive is all the rage so, pick up hair from your sides and top of the head, backcomb with styling spray to as high as you like and pin into place.

Louis Vuitton- Sweeping Fringe

Windswept? The fringe is back and it’s looking a bit wild. Comb to the side with hair spray to keep it into place. Finish off with a headband, or just let it flow freely.

Christian Dior- Ponytail

The mother of fuss free hair, the ponytail, just got even more fuss free.  Placed at the nape of the neck (like the SS2013 buns), go casual with a ponytail with a visible hair band. So easy, and so chic.
